Milledgeville Artifact ID Day, July 12th

July 12 – 11-3 pm at the Old Capitol Museum in Milledgeville (Baldwin Co.).

Thanks to the Old Capitol Museum’s Director Grant Gerlich for helping to set this up!

We had a great ID Day in Milledgeville (see photos).  Thanks to the Old Capitol Museum and its new director Megan O’Neill, to John Whatley and John Arena of the SGA’s Augusta Archaeological Society for helping out!  OAS members who attended were President David Mincey, Treasurer John Trussell, Sam Lawson, and Stephen Hammack.  We saw this Dalton point and the eggstone and bannerstone – all probably Paleo or Early Archaic.  Also see this large Mack point identified by John Whatley.
